NIGERIA'S NEXT SUPER MODEL HAS COME TO STAY!!!

Nigeria's Next Super Model was conceptualized by Mrs.Joan Isioma Okorodudu. The idea is to provide standardized modeling competition in Nigeria, and also to provide platforms to restructure Nigeria's modeling and fashion industry.
It began in 2007 with screening in the month of April.Contestants were drawn from some of the goe-political zones of the Federation and each one of them were given a fair level ground to exhibit their aesthetics and style in their bid to vie for the most prestigious modeling competition in Nigeria and the West Africa sub-region.
The maiden edition saw mostly models who were already established. For this reason,Nigeria's Next Super Model 2007 was highly competitive. The event was characterized by various fashion parades, cultural displays and musical performances. The event was held at Muson centre,Lagos.
Miss.Bunmi Ademokoya, the best model of the world 2007 was the runner up of NNSM 2007 after Eunice Eyo,the grand winner of NNSM 2007.
However,Nigeria's next super model 2008 saw mostly new faces. It was also a huge success, because standard was not compromised.
In 2009 Miss.Aishat Bello won the most coveted modelling competition on Nigeria's soil.No other but the Nigeria's next super model. Each winner from the inception of the competition went home with  a car and also bags breath taking modelling contracts.
Nigeria's next super model 2010 will remain evergreen in the memories of many. It  was proudly sponsored by the Frano-Nigerian chamber of commerce and industry and it was also reconed with by a lot of coperate organizations who threw their entire weight behind the event.
It was a week long event which started with a press briefing and then proceeded on the second day with french ladies cup golf competition. The third day saw a gathering of French Nationals and Nigerians to celebrate beaujolais nouveau cocktail{tasting of a new wine}.The event took place at the Lagos motor boat club,Ikoyi.
The fourth day saw the french men golf competition and the fifth day was the gastronomie week.
On the 26th of Nov,being the eight day of the French week opened to the long awaited NNSM 2010.
Before the winner was crowned, there were colorful fashion shows with designers collections on exhibitions from the stables of Dany Atrache,Kirrette couture and Khadijah.Aminah Benjamin of Hit the runway show, the number one fashion show in the united states was not left behind.
Later in the evening,Aju Elumelu,an international artiste and also a sibling of the originator of Nigeria's next super model,Mrs.Joan Isioma Okorodudu, thrilled the crowed who almost did not blink throughout the entire show with sweet sensational music.
In a chat by fashionnetworkafrica correspondent with an executive of Saipem petroleum,he said this is one show too many.nnsm 2010 has been described by several people as the best competition and fashion shows they have ever seen in Africa.

Mistake Of The Decade!!!!

The supermodel host of Australia's Next Top Model has been left red-faced after she announced the wrong winner of the TV contest.

Sarah Murdoch was close to tears after realising she had mistakenly said 19-year old Kelsey Martinovich was the winner of the Foxtel TV series during the show's live finale.

Martinovich
had completed her acceptance speech before Murdoch backtracked on stage to reveal the real winner from a public vote was 18-year-old Amanda Ware.

"I don't know what to say right now. I'm feeling a bit sick about this," Murdoch told a 2,000-strong audience.

"I'm so sorry. Oh my God, I don't know what to say. This is what happens when you have live TV folks. This is insane, insane, insane."

But Martinovich was gracious in her sudden defeat, saying: "It's okay" over and over and repeatedly congratulating Ware.

The disastrous event was dissected in real time on Twitter, and it became an international trending topic immediately.

NEW FIT AND CAMPAIGN FOR LEVI'S

Levi's has launched a new campaign for women, entitled "Believe". It supports the launch of a new fit concept for women, including one specifically designed for the South African market. Levi's Curve ID launches today, 27 August, 2010, at The Women's Show in Johannesburg.

The new fit concept, Levi's Curve ID, addresses the frustrations that women experience in finding the perfect pair of jeans. Based on a study of more than 60 000 women's bodies around the world, Levi's Curve ID delivers a collection of jeans that women can finally "believe" in. The emotional positioning of "Believe" led Levi's to create a campaign that would capture the spirit of this word. The result is a campaign that celebrates real women and their curves, and that was created specifically for a female audience.

"This campaign celebrates the confidence and courage of the Levi's woman - inspiring, multidimensional and youthful, always believing in herself, what she does and what she wears," said Debbie Gebhardt, marketing director for Levi Strauss South Africa. "With Levi's Curve ID, we are really changing the way women perceive their own body shape and shop for jeans."

Meeting the needs of local consumers
The global campaign features three artists representing each of the Levi's Curve ID fits. The inclusion of a fourth fit, Levi's EVA jeans, in the South African market to meet the needs of local consumers, led to the development of a local version of the campaign. The brand's local music and engagement agency Matchboxology was tasked with finding four young dynamic artists who were confident, sexy and bold in the pursuit of their own success, while also aligned to Levi's brand values of courage, integrity, authenticity and empathy - and, of course, representative of the four distinct body shapes that characterise the new fits. A lengthy search ensued, culminating in the selection of four unique talents: DJ Candice Heyns, singer and songwriter Josie Field, lyrical poet and actress Naima Mclean, and DJ/VJ Fix Moeti.
