Young South African Laduma Ngxokolo wins Vogue Talent for Africa



After several months of pondering on who wins the first ever Vogue Talent for Africa from the 11 shortlisted finalists, Laduma Ngxokolo, the 27 year old South African has emerged as the winner beating hundreds of young hopefuls who submitted their entries in a bid to landslide.
Laduma who relocated to London in 2014 after graduating from the prestigious Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University will showcase his collection in September and December at the Palazzo Morando in Milan and at the Africa International Fashion Week in Lagos Nigeria this year respectively.
The new ambassador for African Fashion who sources his raw materials from Port Elizabeth, South Africa is greatly inspired by the traditional Xhosa beadwork and his brand interprets this old fashioned Xhosa aesthetics in a contemporary perspective to incarcerate the true African soul. The brand based in Cape Town was founded in 2011.
This project “Scouting For Africa” is propelled by Vogue Talents in Collaboration With International Business Consortium Nigeria Limited headed by Joan Okorodudu, organizers Of Nigeria’s Next Super Model, ECOWAS Fashion Week and Africa International Fashion Week, partnered by Studio 24 and sponsored by Access Bank to empower and nurture talents out of the continent of Africa.
