LOS ANGELES—Kate Hudson may play something of a pampered girl-about-town in the new romantic comedy, Something Borrowed (in theaters May 6), but in real life, the actress is about as low-key as an A-lister can get—especially when it comes to her beauty routine.
“Darcy is super put together,” says the actress of her stylish alter ego in the film. “I’m definitely more natural. I love makeup; I just don’t like the time it takes to do it right.”
And while she portrays a designer-clad it girl who prances about Manhattan in bold red lips and perfectly polished nails—even going so far as to test tear-proof mascaras in preparation for her wedding day—Hudson prefers a more fuss-free style. “I kind of like the mushy mascara look,” says the down-to-earth mom, who gravitates towards the quick-and-easy in her products, like Nuxe multi-usage dry oil: “It has a golden tint. You can put it on your hair and your body and it smells really yummy.
