The event took place at Ocean View, Victoria Island, Lagos. She was presented with the new brand of SUV, Range Rover Evogue. The presentation was done by Coscharis Motors, which is the brand owners of Range Rover car brands in Nigeria. The deal, as earlier reported, would see Genevieve pocket about 100,000 US dollars for the first six months. Genevieve is one of the highest paid actresses in Nigeria.

Perfume is always a weird thing to hype because there's no way to convey exactly what it's like until you let people sniff it for themselves. Lady Gaga's doing her best, though, by publishing a long press release about her forthcoming fragrance, called Fame, on her website today. As previously reported, it comes out this September, and the ad campaign was directed and photographed by Steven Klein; the bottle (shown) was designed with Nick Knight.

The actual scent itself, which Gaga has described as smelling like everything from "blood and semen" to an "expensive hooker," sounds very complicated. According the the release:

THE Mother City is set to strike a pose when the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town (MBFWCT) takes place at the Cape Town International Conference Centre (CTICC) from July 25-28 with legends of past fashion weeks making a return to the limelight this year to unveil their Spring/Summer 2012 collections on avant-garde runway shows.

Now in its 10th year – and the first for its new sponsor – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town has secured the return of established designers after a hiatus of varying periods of time. Big names include Hip Hop, Habits by Jenny le Roux and Rosenwerth along with the appearance of exciting new designers to the AFI platform such as Rachel De Mart, Adriaan Kuiters and Ruald Rheeder.

In addition, revered fashion designer and convener of the inaugural Cape Town Fashion Week in 2003, Gavin Rajah, will also be showcasing his grand collection. Other designers showing collections in MBCTFW will be announced in coming weeks.

With 18 shows over four days, this year Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town presents a theme of “icons” – from fashion to cars and venues – to add an extra dimension of global relevance, innovation and lifestyle to this, one of Africa’s premier fashion events.

Bill Gaytten Presented His Last Dior Collection

Dior's resort collection was shown by appointment in Paris yesterday, marking Bill Gaytten's final season before Raf Simons makes his big debut at July's couture shows. Although Dior has made no formal announcement about Gaytten's rumored departure from the label, British Vogue reports that he left on June 5 to concentrate on helming John Galliano, where he has also worked as creative director since Galliano himself was dismissed last year.

Gaytten's resort collection was much like his fall one: full of airy, voluminous skirts, trim riding jackets, and tulle. He kept his emphasis on the waist with lots of belted dresses, corseted tops, and peplums. If we've learned anything about Gaytten over the past year, it's that his forte lies in pretty, wearable, sellable clothes — he may never be the imaginative iconoclast that John Galliano was, but he deftly safeguarded Dior's image at a time when a steady hand was needed. He'll do a fine job at Galliano's namesake label — and hopefully squeeze in a well-deserved vacation soon.

I thought I had, but he turned out to be a big vagina. I’m also into someone who just loves what they do—who’s stoked to be alive. No deadbeats.

So you love being a chiropractor?

Oh yes. I see rock stars and top restaurateurs and janitors and babies and pregnant mommies. Also finance guys who run the world. I think in life you kind of attract what you are, so I have a pretty amazing practice full of awesome people.

That’s a good question. I enjoy reading. I used to be on the go 24 hours a day, and I’d say to my mother, “What do you mean it takes time getting up or getting down?” And then all of a sudden …

You still look sporty.

More like old-ladyish. I’m a person who doesn’t change. I’ve never worn slacks, for instance.

Do you enjoy shopping?

Not as much as I used to. Your figure changes, so at this age you have more fun shopping for the grandchildren.

What about cooking?

I’m a disaster in the kitchen. As my husband says, “I love you, but why don’t we go out to dinner?” And in our retirement community—or as we call it, the Finishing School—you can just go to the dining room.

Does the dining room ever feel a little like a high-school cafeteria?

Absolutely.

Is there a cool group?

Well, I’m a member of it, sure!

Models strutted in from all over Nigeria as various "NNSM 2012 Official Scouting Agencies" brought screened models from Lagos, Ibadan, Kaduna, Bayelsa, Port-Harcourt, Delta and so on.

The Rising Star: Kingsley Ushie

Extraordinary but legend in the making that’s all we can say about this young and talented man Kingsley Ushie.

From Cross Rivers State Nigeria, born and raised in Lagos with wonderful talent both on the runway and sketching of designs.

Today our model focus is on Kingsley “The rising star” just 19 but he has carved a niche   for himself after the Arise Magazine Fashion Week in Lagos Nigeria. Who would have thought  this multi-talented  young man  who came to Arise as an observer will get this far in such a short period of time. However, he walked the ramp with the likes of Sebastian Sauve, Dudley and other super models who were present at the event.

Call him 19 but I can bet you that this lil wiz can make the fashion industry in Nigeria vibrant with his sketches.

Kingsley started sketching in 2011 after his elder sister bought a fabric and no ides of what to do with it, young Kinsley came to her rescue only if her sister will pay him N200 to get Noodles, after that sketch, advice started coming from his family and loved ones.

Thanks to his sister for bringing that fabric called “Ankra”. Since then Kingsley has about 500 hundred sketches in his kitty.

Signed with Isis Models this young man is ready to rule his world.  Hopefully we can see him on the ramps of London, New York, Paris, Johannesburg and Cape Town and come in August we hope to see him in London at the Africa Fashion Week London.

Moreover, we say Africa is the world’s next destination.
