Indonesia plans to ban miniskirt

...due to new anti-pornography laws

The miniskirt is under threat in Indonesia following a proposed ban by the country's religious affairs minister, Suryadharma Ali. The predominantly Islamic country has justified their decision by suggesting that miniskirts are contrary to their new strict 'anti-porn laws'. Although the criteria have not yet been set for what constitutes to pornography, ministers have - somewhat uncouthly - said that it "is something that we can feel".
If plans are to go ahead, anything that falls above the knee would be seen as pornographic. According to Islamic law women not only have to wear long skirts but they have also to cover up "all the private parts of their body", which by the sounds of things includes their knees. Not only does the miniskirt clash with religious rules, but is also thought to encourage sexual emotions amongst men. Earlier in the week, parliamentary speaker Marzuki Alie said that ''You know what men are like - provocative clothing will make them do things.''

Jerry Hall wants her miniskirts back
British designer and darling of the Swinging Sixities, Mary Quant, is largely regarded to be the 'inventor' of the miniskirt. Creating pieces with increasingly shorter hemlines, she arrived at the miniskirt in 1964 naming it after her favourite make of car.
Punishments for offenders in Indonesia are yet to be outlined but perhaps a banishment to a lifetime of polyester might be appropriate?
Mary Quant: 'You have to work at staying slim - but it's worth it'

Splurge: Beyonce Spend $4795 To See Michelle Obama

The Eagle has landed! Beyoncé was spotted yesterday evening arriving at the Greenwich hotel to have dinner with First Lady Michelle Obama. For her night out, she slipped on a $1,545 Victoria Beckham 3/4 Sleeve Sheath Dress, $1,985 Lanvin Swarovski Crystal Eagle necklace, and a pair of $1,265 Nicholas Kirkwood Satin and Navy Glitter pumps.

Beyonce

Her Victoria Beckham frock is impeccably tailored, and features a V-neckline and patch pockets in the front.

Her Lanvin necklace is made a burnished silver-tinted brass, with a blinged-out Swarovski crystal eagle spreading its wings.

Her Nicholas Kirkwood pumps are made of satin  and navy glitter bands, criss crossing over the instep. The bands partially obscure a black grosgrain rosette.
I’m a slave for sheath dresses and Lanvin jewelry, so I am a fan of this look. However, I think she could have added a pop of color to make the outfit more exciting. A touch of yellow or hot pink wouldn’t have hurt!

Wardrobe Query: Ciara’s Raptors Vs Giuseppe Zanotti High Top Platform Sneakers

.Ciara (left) and Isabel Marant (Right)

Ciara (like Cassie and Brandy) is a super fan of Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers. Her particular kicks are $995, and come in white suede and sand calfskin with a concealed platform, two zippers at the sides, and iridescent rhinestones:
.Kicks $995

Move over Isabel Marant.
I must say I wasn’t much of a fan of Marant’s platform sneaks, but I could rock with these:

Lanvin Wing Pendant Necklace, $1,985
.Givenchy Iris Print Nightingale, $2,000
.Current/Elliott The Stiletto Leopard Print Pants, $198
.Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary Daf Booties, $1,995
