Highlights from day two at Milan men's fashion week spring/summer 2012
PRADA
Golf inspired Prada's offbeat, whimsical menswear collection for next spring and summer.
"I was using golf as an excuse to make it eccentric. Even if I hate golf and don't play, it is completely international," designer Miuccia Prada said backstage after the show.
The motif, she said, allowed her to merge ideas and cultures, although the basic theme of the collection was "Americana."
Prada laid artificial turf for the show inside a cavernous industrial space in central Milan, just the thing for the riveted soles of the fringed golf shoes worn by the models - or were they caddies? Several carried floral printed or studded golf bags, with Prada-branded golf clubs.
Sporting cocky golf hats, the models seemed to enjoy themselves as they snaked down the grassy runway, to a lively remix of Cole Porter's "Summertime."
The backbone of the collection came in the well-tailored jackets, trousers and sweaters in neutral colours, from tan to black, that became the blank canvas for Prada's whimsy.

Kate Middleton's favourite designer launches exclusive cashmere line
Katherine Hooker, the London-based designer behind one of the Duchess of Cambridge's favourite labels, has hit the heritage trail to produce an exclusive cashmere collection.
Katherine Hooker, whose immaculately-tailored tweed designs have been a staple of the Duchess's wardrobe for six years, has signed a deal with the historic Scottish firm, Johnstons of Elgin, which dates back to 1797, and is the only mill in Scotland to transform raw cashmere from fibre to finished article.
Under the new collaboration, Johnstons of Elgin will provide luxurious cashmere and merino, woven at the historic mill, for a limited edition collection of Katherine Hooker made-to-order coats and jackets.
Top of the range will be the 'Jackson Coat', fluid, flattering and classic, which will carry a price-tag for bespoke of £1,050, while her popular 'Tali' jacket will cost £970

On The Run
DONNA IDA wants you to don your trainers and join her on adidas' Women's 5k Challenge on September 11 - to help her raise £50,000 for Jean For Genes, a charity that offers funding for the care and support of children with genetic disorders.
In exchange for completing the 5k run, she'll be giving away some seriously covetable prizes. Everyone who runs will receive a £50 gift voucher to spend in the store, plus a T-shirt created by talented print designer Simeon Farrar. The top fundraisers will receive a seriously covetable goodie bag, including Victoria Beckham sunglasses, tea at The Ritz, luxury pedicures and manicures and jeans by Paige Denim, J Brand and James.
"I am so proud to be a patron for Jeans for Genes, it's so important to make more and more people aware of the fantastic work that they do," said Ida. "This year, I'm hoping to raise more money than ever, and am teaming up with friends, colleagues, celebrities and journalists to run the adidas Women's 5k Women's Challenge as Team Donna Ida. We're already having lots of fun training, and we're promising goody bags plus cupcakes and Champagne after the race as an incentive to raise as much money as possible and smash our £50,000 target."

Are the original supermodels to reunite for Duran Duran?
BY Melissa Whitworth
Photo: Rex
Rumour has it that Yasmin, wife of Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon, herded the girls together to shoot a video for the band's new single, Girl Panic , a coup that recalls George Michael's now iconic Freedom video.
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana of Dolce & Gabbana were involved in the shoot; Fashionista posted pictures from Stefano Gabbana's Tumblr page of the supers in black corset dresses and leotards. Lucy Yeomans, the editor of Harper's Bazaar , was also there to capture the "girls on film" for a cover shoot.
According to Yeomans's Twitter account, the shoot went on until 3am and was such a success that Christensen sent her flowers the next morning. She tweeted to Simon Le Bon: "Just seen stills and they're amazing. More champagne waiter...!", before adding: "This has to have been one of the most extraordinary days of my life. A little bit of fashion history made!"
